Clutch/Brake Lever Replacement

Sometime ago I bought a set of Pazzo levers and today I finally got around to putting them on. Now I know a few have done this mod(Merv).
I have just taken the clutch lever off but how do you get the thrust pin and roller out of the old lever? There is not enough clearance to pop it out and it looks like you have to push out the sleeve from where the lever pivots, or cut part of the lever away on both sides, to allow clearance for removal.
Hope this makes sense and hope someone can help.

Rick

Ok lads n lassies, I've answered my own question. Stuck a centre punch in the sleeve and drifted it out.

Nice one.
Did you go for the short ones or the full length ones and can we have pics please?

Not out of the woods yet!
I'm having a problem with getting the thrust pin in through the seal. I think this maybe because the seal is cold and has caused it to harden up. I will put the wife's hair-dryer to work on it tomorrow to soften it.

Full length ones BaggaZee, I would have got the short ones but was not sure if they would suit my short reach. I will take some pics tomorrow and try and do a step by step guide for anyone who wants to do same.

A bit of grease should help. Look forward to the pics.

Grease didn't work. It was so cold that the seal was really inflexible.
I had another problem with non-starting and eventually she had to be collected by
Mike(M.D.Racing)to sort out, so he fitted them for me, lazy git that I am. So I am sorry but no pics.

Shame, no worries. I don't think I can resist this mod for much longer so I'll try to take some pics myself.

I'm probably going to do this mod soon with some CRG levers so a 'How to' thread would be very handy

Take them to your local Platers, while you're at it take anything else you want done, as most companies will charge a minimum £30 for this.
I've had lots of parts for my bikes anodised at my local platers, find out who does it locally and skip out of work early.............
Job done!

I wouldnt mind getting my rear foot hangers and rear sets coated along with the petrol cap, could put all our bits in the same bucket...if thats how they do it.

They do. I was looking at some a couple of weeks ago in a US ebay shop. £110 for a pair, the picture showed black leavers.

Found them. It's actually a UK seller, fbd636 The item has ended but I'm sure they'll have more. Free delivery too.
