Finally winter project done (ish) 749 track prepped
Thought i'd better get some pictures of the 749 dark up before i take it to knockhill on friday and park it in a gravel trap.

Been mincing on with this since i bought it as a road bike last october so here's a list of whats been changed some by the previous owner but most by me.

S spec gold nitrided forks to replace the poor oe dark spec showas
bucci radial brake calliper brackets
brembo radial callipers from an R with performance friction pads
brembo radial master cylinder
earls black braided brake lines
renthal grips
fork slider bobbins
ssr rearsets
ssr quick release tank cap
carbon rear hugger
carbon front sprocket cover
carbon timing belt cover
carbon exhaust heat shield
race front subframe to replace lights
stm evo slipper clutch
jhp open clutch cover
modded rear swingarm to accept paddock stand bobbins fitted
renthal front and rear sprockets and tsbuaki gold chain (cant remember size 14/41 maybe?)
mra clear double bubble screen
hc racetech track fairings with desmosedici style stripe (and a 2 month wait!)
racefit exhaust retains standard downpipes
blue samco coolant hoses

future plans include

mono subframe or race spec one to replace the bip one on there
quick action throttle
LSL clip ons
better tyres when they wear out (metzler roadtech propably one trackday then)
better rear shock to replace the sachs one on there even if it has got an ohlins sticker
front cylinder cat replacement pipe
power commander

pics taken today in the rain hence the wet bike

brakelight is compulsory at knockhill

Looks real good Ian, nicely done.

Its prob the mono seat, but the exhaust seems to extend a long way.

Its primarily for trackdays but i have a daylight only MOT so it can be used on the road too. Not sure how often that will be as having no mirrors or lights is pretty dangerous.

Exhaust does look like it extends a long way i think that is because you normally have a heatshield on a standard exhaust or termi's and the mono seat makes it stand out. Had considered shortening it but its already loud enough as it is.

Very nice.

Where did you get the radial bucci fork bottoms & how much (if you don't mind me asking)?

Mark.

Thanks for the comments people

Mark the red light is indeed my brakelight. Knockhill stipulates that all track bikes require a sidestand and a brakelight.

Just a thought but the cat for the rear cylinder on the std can is in the backbox and as you say in the pipe that runs from the front cylinder, so running that can and the std link pipe will mean that one cylinder is running with a cat and one without ?

Will that not screw the fueling up ?

in reply to above.....

I thought that aswell but following the instructions from the racefit installation procedure apparently not. Dont know how tho and its not like the inlet diameters are different like an asymetric termi but thats what it says.

No fueling mods required to fit this can.

will eventually purchase a cat replacement pipe and power commander tho.

the standard back box weighs so much i'm happy to run this instead and the noise the thing makes is awesome.

Black is wicked
Like the bike, I have started collecting the peices for this winters rebuild, hope mine looks as good when finished.
Hope to catch a duel at KH some time before you run it in the gravel traps.

First post so hi to all the fellow "greatest V twin" owners
