Best all round 749 Tyre

Hi all
I'm looking for some recommendations for a good set of alround tyres for my 749. It's running Diablo corsa III's at the moment. To be honest I find them well above my riding skill even though I'll get my knee down from time to time.

What prompted me to ask the question is I got caught out in the rain the other day and all of a sudden the front end had no feel or bite and the back end started skipping into roundabouts and this was riding normally.

So, a good alround tyre something which feels good in most situations. Do they exist?

If it all of a sudden did this and you have had good experience thus far, it must have been an isolated incident diesel on roundabout etc. he Diablo Rosso is getting good reviews Michelin 2ct people like also.

Its always a trade off between grip and duarability, I like grip, first second and third.

I stuck Pilot Road 2 CT's on mine, Note......not the Powers. Cant say I noticed much difference tbh and they last longer too.

I love my Pilot Power 2CTs, always been good on the road and I found them superb on the track, wet and dry, too.

Thanks for your advise. I'll have to look into pilot road 2ct. I've also been recommended a metzetler tyre. Can't remember what it was but it wasn't the track day one and boy can he shift on them!

No there wasn't diesel on the road, the tyres just didn't give feedback when it got cold due the the rain. Don't forget this is normal riding and not fast riding.

thanks again

I should have added above, mine are Pilot Power 2CTs, I've never tried Pilot Road.

Pilot Power 2CT for me, they transformed my bike over the OE Pilot sports, lots of feedback, stable even in the wet and very confidence inspiring. Saying that, I've heard really good reports about Pilot Road 2CTs, very similar to what Davieravie says: they feel just like Power 2CTs & last longer.

Yeah.....i got the same speel from the tyre fitter at Michelin..basically, if you look at the speck of a road tyre, then its more than adequate for fast road use.

I was told that road tyres heat up quicker than fancy track tyres, seems to be true too. A pal of mine has commuted, doing 6000 miles a year on Roads 2CT and theres plenty of meat left.
