At the moment i own a 749 '05' bip and a VOR 503 SM '02' i've been riding bikes on road for 17years. I've managed to do 1300 miles on my 749 so far and it's the best bike i've ever had the pleasure to ride. I've made a few mods to it so far and have a list of stuff to do. Always ready to help out if i can.

Nice bikes. Out of interest, is it a case of VOR for winter, Duc for summer or both all year round?

Cheers

Thanks BaggaZee. The VOR is to mad for winter even with soft race tyres also needs some new valve shims.
70bhp and 90kgs makes it a handful in the dry.

Evening all,
owner of 03 749s( previously had 748/s4 monster)
Only had it a week and the only ride so far was back fom having the belts changed at winchester.spent most of this week removing fairings etc and cleaning/checking everything.
got termis, carbon hugger, clutch plate and stm cover waiting to go on very soon.

waiting for a dry day so that I can give it some stick

Welcome 748Rosso.
So tell me, what prompted the change from 748 to 749?

took a while to like the new design, but once I did,the 748/9** style started to look a bit dated to me.love the back end of the bike, but the front I wasn't too sure of.had my 749 in the garage for a week now and absolutly love it

2004 749 yellow with full corse stripe

I bought my 749 a month ago, and since i spend 2-3 hours on e-bay to buy bits and pieces to make her perfect. I got so far:

rear carbon hugger
open clutch cover
clear rear indicators and led rear light
matching yellow corse helmet

I 'm after a termignoni system now, but no luck so far.

Would be good to meet 749 owners in the London area.

Hi Guys,

Mines a 2003 749s in red converted to mono which Ive only owned for 2 weeks!!

Fitted a Termi system myself the day I bought it, and just fitted a new Ducati Performance pressure plate, springs, cups etc for the clutch!! I'm fairly handy around the bike, used to completely strip and service my enduro/road bike myself regularly but leave the essentials to the Pro's!!

Had a 1998 748 bip for a couple of years, then a 2000 MV Agusta F4 750, but back to the duke as I love the twin!!

I nearly bought a mint 916 sps, like 748 rosso, I absolutely loved the old school look, but have definately made the right decision with the 749!

Plenty of more upgrades planned, carbon, magnesiun, ohlins........
