Ducati 749s Side Stand Concerns?

Hi peeps

I'm brand new too the site.....I bought an 03 749s on sunday.

Tried posting a question last night but had too wait for the login/admin approval.....anyway, answered my own question this morning.

The question was going to be:- my bike looks like its leaning over to far when on the stand...is this the usual position for Dukes???

Took my bike too Ducati Daytona this morning too get the full belt etc service.....whilst standing in the shop booking it in....the bike toppled over. ..luckily the crash bungs saved any major damage...except for a snapped clutch lever, broken indicator and scratched crash bung everything else is un-marked.........I was warned about Dukes being notorious for bills...so looks like including the service I'm in for a £700 one after just 2 days and 200 miles........

Anyway hi and by the looks of things I'm going to be asking a stack of questions on here.

cheers
steve

nice bike choice - its the bling that really gets expensive, welcome to site, keep the side stand tightened and all should be fine - bagazee did have this happen as well but luckily got the damage sorted under warrenty. Hopefully you will get yourself down to the ace for one of the legendary breakfast challenges so we can see her in the flesh

Welcome to the site Steve & sorry to hear about your bike! What did Daytona have to say about it as they saw what happened? I don't suppose you bought it from them in the first place did you?

It's definitely something to look out for, mine fell over too but I got lucky with a warranty claim sorted by Moto Rapido.

Thanx guys......I was actually given a spare stand by the last owner!!!!! Which should have made me suspicious in the 1st place!!!

Daytona where great gave it the full service put a new clutch lever and the side stand and told me all the things to watch out for and where generally really helpfull....and all for £550....which was what they quoted me for the service. So really happy with them.

Although I've been riding around all week and it keeps cutting out when sitting at lights or when its left idling...the guys at Daytona put a new fuel filter in.....Ive had a flick through other posts and by the look of things the 1st thing to try is the fuel relay.

And yup certainly up for an Ace cafe breakfast, I only live 5mins away.

GOSH....that really is common....and so many choices.......I think I'll start with the super unleaded choice as I have the Termi and ECU fitted already...and I might turn the idle up a touch....bit of extra noise at the lights never did anybody any harm.

It's been discussed on ducatisti many times, try the search facility  .
The throttle bodies need careful setting up apparently. Mine did this from new but got sorted at first service when I mentioned it.
