Leo Vince 'Corse' System for Ducati 749R

I have just won a Leo Vince Corse system for my 749R from America but Ive noticed there is no heat shield for the rear silencer !
Should there be one with this particular system and if the guy hasnt got it where could I get my hands on one?
Thanks in advance

Il post some pics of the bike when its fitted. The pipe welds look so impressive they wouldnt look out of place hanging from a wall in the house.
Although I havnt mentioned buying it to the other half yet so I better not push my luck !!

Just thought Marky.....

If your system doesn't come with the shroud and souring another one becomes difficult, you could always think about fitting this type of seat unit as it is designed for the 'WSB' type exhaust systems.....

They do look the biz when fitted with a Leo or similar and you can get them in GRP instead or Carbon (which cost a bomb...)

Cheers

Thats exactly what Im after XP !! When you mention a fitting kit do you mean for the heat shield or for the system itself? What does this kit include ?

Thank you for the offer nogaromill999 and if its not to much trouble could you get me the price of it. I have asked the seller if he has the original but no reply yet, so if I had a price it would help me decide to maybe bargain a bit more or just leave this system and look for another one.

But at the money Im getting it for it would be really really really difficult to walk away.

Thank you both for your prompt replys and look foreward to hearing from yous !!

If you need photo's......give duke749s a quick shout as he has my old system now.....

I'm sure he'll be more than happy to take a few pics for you.......

Yes I am in possession of said system as XP has mentioned

I shall hopefully be fitting it this weekend so I will post some pics of how it all fits together and how it looks if you need it. I also have the fitting instructions, diagrams etc from Leo Vince on pdf as well.

I saw that system you won on ebay, you got it very cheap by the looks of it, just one question, have you checked the seller will post to the UK? as he stated that it was only the US when I saw the ad!

Yea I checked he would post and he said no probs,
Mind you I am still waiting the postage cost but I just had a minimoto posted from the states a few weeks back and it weighed about 35kg and wasnt that expensive. Even more surprising was the fact it arrived in four days !

Pics and information would be very helpful. XP emailed me the Leo Vinve PDFs but thanks anyway and let me know how you get on.

Right here are the long awaited pics, there are a few!!

The bike isn't currently back together yet as I have been doing a few other little jobs on it.

An Idiots guide to Exhaust Upgrades!!
(Fitting a Leo Vince 'Corsa' System)

Step 1:- Take one standard 749R

Step 2:- Get it Naked

Step 3:- Remove rear light cluster and wiring loom

Step 4:- Remove Silencer, sit back and admire new MotoGP style exhaut outlets!!

Step 5:- Remove rest of the pipe work... I found removing the crankcase breather pipe allowed easier access to the rear manifold bolts and likewise remove the oil cooler from it's mountings allows easy access to the front manifold!

Step 6:- Fit new pipework... Don't forget at this point allow all nuts bolts etc to remain loose and don't be tempted to fit any springs until it is all complete.

Step 7:- Sort out the rear lights and number plate bracket!

I have added a tail tidy I bought from Ebay and carried out the number plate light conversion.

It's attached to the Leo Vince bracket using the captive type nuts that are on the original exhaust system.

Step 8:- Fit new bracket for the fairing to mount to

Step 9:- Give everything a wiggle, check nothing is fouling or in contact with the bike and there is sufficient clearance around the swing arm etc, then finally begin to tighten the exhaust up. Start at the front and work back, tighenting all nuts. bolts and fit the springs.

Step 10:- Put the tank etc back on, stand back and admire your work, then start it up and listen to how good it sounds........... Who wants a termi when you can have one of these!!!!!!!

There you go finally got round to it!

It's not a comprehensive guide by any means and I will be happy to add to it and answer any questions about the fitting of it. By the way I have also fitted a pair of Ducati Performance air filters too!

The kits has various brackets, spacers, nuts and bolts. a lot of which you may not need depending on how you plan to fit it i.e. original number plate hanger etc requires additional 4 bobbin style spacers which i didn't require due to fitting the tail tidy.

A couple of points I will follow up on when I get a chance. One of which is the wiring loom for the rear light cluster. At the minute I have removed the loom from the original stainless steel tube as it does not fit the Leo Vince system. I'm currently working on a neat and permanent soloution as to how I will fix the loom in place. I'm planning on adding a custom made stainless steel tube but haven't finalised the design/routing yet.

The second is the heat proofing of the fairings. The front header pipe runs very close to the N/S fairing and after seeing a number of panels that have melted including some very damaged carbon panels I am not risking this happening to mine. I have a large sheet of heat proof covering (as used in racing applications) that I intended to cover the area of the fairing that run near the exhaust pipe. I have cut out some panels that match the lower part of the fairing and so far it looks very neat. I will post some pics when it's attached to them.

The last thing to do is sort out the fueling. For this I'm going hi tec, out with ther power commander (I have one going spare if any one wants one?!) and in with the Nemisis ECU.
I won't go on about all the features etc of the Nemisis ECU but I feel it's a must have for a bike like this, with this type of exhaust upgrade.

Unfortunatly I have to wait another 2 weeks for it to get on the dyno and set up. It's being done by JHP but due to thier race commitments there's a bit of a delay..... hence I have not rushed to get the bike back together!!

Anyway, thats enough rabbiting on for now!!

Well done Kev....

That looks sweet buddy....

It'll be interesting to see how the new Nemisis ECU performs...

Hope you get that bit sorted soon

Cheers

Duke....better heat bandage your pipes than lag your fairings surely?
