749/999 owners Hose check

Having dismantled most of the bike had to take the rad off to get the horiz rocker cover off good job I did as I would have missed this. The lower short hose from the rad to the water manifold chafes on the fairing, (well it has been on mine). Good idea to check it as it will let you down when you least need it.

Picture is a bit blurred but you can see the damage to the hose.

Yes.......quality gear and will more than likely out last the engine...

There are two types of kits available Blackie......

Kit one contains 6 hoses if I remember for about £60

Kit two contains the extra hoses which you need if you have a radiator with the longer hose that comes out of the water gallery behind the battery box and then goes 90 degress upwards.....

Some rads have two identical short hoses which are part of the 6 piece kit.....

its worth the extra £25 for the extra hoses......

The picture shows the £85 kit plus the Samco fuel lines which are about £40 a metre....

Ok Thanks Andy, but the hose isn't a prob for me, but I was trying to bring to light a clash which if not checked is going to possibly cause some pain. Maybe able to get the rad back a bit more or some durable sheathing on the hose.

It doesn't matter if its Samco or standard if its fouling as mine obviously was it will wear thru. (Just when you don't need it to).

Just reading through another thread this one actually, Removing Air Filters

There is a picture showing the battery ecu box it looks as it is this component that can clash with the hose. get your girlfriend to check that also.
