So what is the wheel nut tool?
Expect April can't come soon enough for you, are you going to make it down to Bristol on the 26th?
|
I am going to book 2 weeks leave so I am there for the Bristol record attempt! So even if I still have a few weeks work left here I will still make that.
Other must haves are the Carbon belly pan, carbon side panels (the black bits your thighs rest on), Carbon Termis, and a steering damper... all (with possible exception of Termis) will be ordered and fitted before Bristol.
Not really sure about the wheel nut tool... it was shiny so I bought it!! Although on a serious note, it is this thing here: eMoto - Ducati 1098 Tools & Service ... it is an odd wheelnut as you can see, so thought it would be handy to keep under the seat just encase!

are you sure that will fit a 848?. The 1098 uses a different hub. The 848s is more like the s4r monster and the hypermotard

I think there were 2 different hubs on the 1098, but both with the same wheelnut? (rear paddock stands come with an adaptor). Not sure if it will fit to be honest. I always put a note that it is for the 848 and for them to make sure the item will fit and everything has so far.....

My spending it going into freefall mode. I have just arranged a reasonable discount with eMoto to supply the remaining items on my (immediate) list: Carbon Air duct covers/Carbon Seat Side panels/Carbon bellypan/Carbon fibre oil V-plate/Moto corse Titanium Oil and water radiator covers.
My question is.... how long do you think it will take me to fit this lot (including items in the previous post)?! The hugger and front mudguard are already on. I think it will take me about 5 hrs to fit the rest. Anyone have any better offers?
I land at Birmingham lunchtime on Fri 11th April and wonder if I have a hope in hell of getting all the shiny bits on in time for a run down to Boxhill on Sat 12th?! ... I could be pushing it!

I know there have been problems with other forum members but I must say I took the chance and they haven't dissapointed. The bits ordered to date were ordered under 4 different orders and each order has arrived within the week (I think the first one took nearly 2, but they had warned me of this). Maybe they have taken any criticism on board and sorted out their system? Maybe it is on certain parts for certain bikes? All I can say is that from my experiences I would recommend them to anyone.

more bling!
After behaving myself in Singapore at the weekend I decided to treat myself to a few of the remaining items on my shopping list. I have now added the following to the bits waiting for my arrival in the uk next month:
Carbon Fibre Air Duct covers
Carbon Fibre Seat Side Panels
Carbon Fibre Belly Pan
Carbon Fibre Oil Cooler V-Plate
Moto Corse Oil Rad guard
Moto Corse Water Rad guard
It is also booked in for the Ducati Performance Steering damper the first week I am back!
................counting down the days...................
(the only other things I would like to add are exhaust and rearsets, but that won't be happening this time round)

It sure will be one trick looking bike when you get all that bling on. Some pictures please
I am surprised the exhaust was not one of the first things on your list though.
Enjoy

It would have been if I were going for Termi's, but the plan at the moment is Carbon Leo Vince with Power Commander, but I figure I will let myself get used to the bike a bit first and make sure there are no niggly problems that need sorting on the warranty before I void it. I'll give it 6months or a year and then do it.

Well, I finished. Fitted everything apart from the Carbon dash cover, pazzo levers, and clutch/brake reservior caps. Took me about 3 hrs, so not bad going.
Will get some piccies up over the next couple of weeks (maybe some from Boxhill if I get down there in the morning.

Well there is no frost on the ground and there is not one cloud in the sky.... what more do you want?! (I am told that this is a first here for a while). I think that is pretty good going!
(I am in Bucks).
