Cess pit, get some pics at the Box this weekend and post them on here. I am intrigued by the new stickers.

Jolley, me old riding dude
Sorry mate, no pics so far. Does look good though if I say so myself.
Nice thing is if I get bored I can pull them off, leave it as it is or get a different set of graphics.
Saving up for some termi's.....just end cans I'm afraid.
Still chasing the carbon fairy as well.
The bike is running great, goes like stink and I really do believe my riding has got a bit better since getting the 848.
Hows things with you, missing the bike I bet.
When are you back, you might have said but Ive got a memory like a.........Sh*t Ive forgotton.

Back in August. Doing CSS on 18th/19th Aug at Silverstone, so sometime around that. Not sure if I will do exhausts before I get back or not.

Thought I'd post a quick update.
Now completed 2500 miles with no problems so far. I can't believe how good this bike is, I am really taken with this little duke.
Mods so far........
CARBON..Hugger, fender, air ducts, heel plates, exhaust guard, tank protector.
Suspension adjusters, R&G fork protectors, Tinted double bubble screen.
Xerox graphics kit...a matter of taste I know but I like it.
To Do:
Termi slips ons eventually, rear seat cowl and remove rear pegs......and I'm not sure what else, Ive no plans to change the suzzies or tune the engine as I'm happy with what Ive got.
Tyres, petrol and training/track days will be the order of the day.
She gets used daily to get to work, rain or shine and gets a good thrashing at the weekend.
Handles like a dream, though I have never gelled with the Pirrelli's and some new tyres are on the cards.
What else can I say, I really feel at one with this bike and I am very very pleased with the whole situation.
Just need some regular sunshine......

Cess.... you have an item of Carbon not yet seen on my bike!!!! ... how dare you!!
Nice to see you are catching up with my mileage.... I will have to bung on another couple of thousand in August to stay ahead. We will have to do the trip up to Donnington DD together when I get back ol' chap!
(oh, and I have plenty of Sunshine if you want to borrow some!)

Yes, they come with Carbon ones anyway, but not fitted yet!.... by first job when I get back (I could just give them to Onyerbike when they fit the Ohlins, but like to do bits and pieces like that myself.... it is half the fun).
I will try to bring the sun back with me.

Hi there
last week I tested the 1098 RC8 and the 848. I came away thinking the 1098 was the be all and end all. But couple of days later after some doubts I got to thinking that I hadnt really seen the full potential of the 848,so I booked up again and took it out. This time I thought I would ring its neck.
All I can say is what a bike!yeah in town its a bit on the wrists but show me a sports bike that isnt, but out and about on the open road its fantastic. Pulling away it puts the power down, in to bends if you attack them it justs drops in holds the line like its on a mono rail and powers out again its light, flips from side to side like theres nothing to it.when riding it it sounds great I even had a pedestrian cover his ears and I was only doing thirty in thirty zone The brakes, much maligned by the bike journos worked fine.A quick practice E stop and an over take that suddenly had to be cancled soon confirmed that which is a real confidence booster.looks wise when I filled up with petrol I looked over to her parked up and she looked the mutts nutts.
Compared to my 749 it felt bigger definatly alot lighter the mirrors that some people have caned are a hundred times better than you get on 749, they seemed masive or is that just me.
A minor negative from a personal perspective,If got one of which there is a good chance, it would have to be red the pearl white looks good but its a duke and for me its red, but I dont like the lower black fairing it should be all red.Other than that piffling little reason they are a great bike I would certaily like to have one.
Those of you that have one enjoy it, the the journos talk out of their arses, you have a stonking bike, but of course you dont need me to tell you that.
safe riding
regards Fireduke

Hello Fireduke
Totally agree. In 99% of situations I will be faster on my 848 than I would be on the 1098....and how anyone can question the brakes is beyond me.
Im not that fast but at Brands I was able to outbrake everything...and I mean everything. All my overtakes was on the brake or because I braked later but was able to get the power on earlier.
Best bike Ive ever had......
Hope you enjoy yours

Abosutely delighted with mine too! Just had 1st service yesterday so I can start winding her up a bit! Handling is awesome and me Leo Vinces sound nice - baffles out soon methinks
I'll see how we go on longer runs before sorting suspension / bars / throttle assy but will do this based on experiences first.
Interestingly the guys at Pro Twins say that for a 13 - 14 stone person the suspension should be about OK out the crate, but for lighter types the back may need softening up a tad.

So should the racing teams dump the 1098 and go in for 848's instead then?

Only if they have me as their No1 rider......
Im not good enough to exploit the difference mate, so a 1098 would be wasted on me.
Plus they dont do one in white......though the tri-colour is stunning.
