Keep me posted with your experiences and I'll let you know when I've done some miles.
cheers,

HI Tom
I was going to run mine in and get the Termis fitted after the 600 mile service as wasn't sure when they would turn up from the factory. They however turned up and I got the bike with them already fitted. It sounds absolutely gorgeous with them on but the only down side is that I can't rev the bike above 6000-7000 revs so don't the full benefit. Once it's run-in I'll be able to appreciate it to the full. Took it to work today. Was a lovely sunny day when I left this morning but it's now raining! Oh no!
I would get it if I was you and run it in then fit them. It could take ages coming from Italy!!
Enjoy
Richard

Nice bike, looks great. Interesting to see whether you have any stalling problems as my 1098 was an early model and it took a while to get it all sorted. Hopefully quality control will be better this time round with the 848. Keep us posted on how things go.

Rich,
Just like 2 echo other comments, lovely looking bike esp. in red most flattering pix I've seen of that colour. Not seen solo seat photo'd b4.
Is there no bi/mono option on 848, just one subframe & u purchase a solo unit to suit? I know my 749 & mono versions have different subframes.
Congrats again, enjoy it!

Hi
Thanks. It has stalled a few times but nothing to get worried about. My old 749 had a similar problem.

Thanks for the comments. They do a mono seat unit ( £65 ) that just interchanges with the pillion seat pad. Same subframe. I got it like that and didn't have the rear footpegs fitted. I've got the standard parts obviously but I'm not likely to carry a pillion. I think it looks much better!

Hi Andy
Sorry I didn't mean it quite like that. The 749 is an amazing bike but the 848 is just better. In a few years time there'll be another bike better than mine! Yes I didn't tell many people. The Termis have gone. It sounds totally different from the 749. Might see you sometime if I come down and annoy Dan.
Take care
Rich

Look forward to meeting up again in the summer, we will have to take out for a little ride up and down Cheddar Gorge
I am looking forward to comparing myself the 848 to the 749. Roll on the sunny days.
Enjoy!

Nice bike, looks better in red than white I reckon, and persumably easier to keep clean.
Are the photos from a carpark where the ship pub is, or was? Is it still there? Used to be a bit of a biker hang out, back in the day. I used to go and see a lot of bands play there.

Hi Dave
You're spot on. It is the cark park where The Ship Inn used to be. I spent many a drunken friday night in there! It's also where the local council are planning to build The Turner Centre ( An art gallery, named after the painter ). It's a good idea but I think will be wasted on the majority of Thanet residents!

Oh yeah, Tracey Emin's got something to do with that hasn't she? Coz of her status of most famous (or infamous perhaps) ex resident. I saw some of her prints in the Tate Modern years ago. She was deliberately using a very basic printing technique. One had a crude, but recognizable drawing of the Naylandrock Hotel where she apparently lost her virginity (didn't we all! lol). The inscription simply read; 'Then he took me behind the Nayland Rock and f****ed me!'.........
I liked the direct reference to one of her home town landmarks and had to larf thinking about the number of times I'd been watching bands in the basement of that establishment, and all the while Mz Emin could have been fornicating just round the corner..
Makes you proud doesn't it? She's a great Ambassador for Thanet...

Well, if that tent installation she did is anything to go by (the one with all the names of all the people she'd ever slept with sewn into the inside), then there's been quite a few drunks in her life.
Including, suprisingly, the great Billy Childish; Chatams finest, beloved of Blur, Kobain (rip), and even Kylie! He was with Emin for 9 years !! God, when they finally split (just before she became famous) he must have suffered the worlds biggest hangover!
