May be good idea to sort out your suspension. Didn't think it was a problem, but heard that Italian bikes are not so rider friendly like jap bikes which are set to suit almost any shape and size. I think my main problem was too little preload and too little front compression damping. Got that sorted out and well... let's say i dart in and out in traffic like scooters, but still holds its line like a rock on the corners.

The one I rode at Cadwell was supposedly on stock settings and it felt perfect. I dare say I'll have a twiddle with it as I get used to it

One more sleep to go Popped into the dealers to pay for her at the weekend and had a sit on and pull the levers. Already bought a couple of carbon bits Can't wait...

100 miles up on it now and we've already been caught out in a rain storm, LOL! Took these just after I picked her up. Yesterday I went up to Cornerspeed to have all the levers adjusted to fit me perfectly and get the carbon hugger put on, which looks great Got drenched on the way back and now she needs a wash. I'm pleased to bits with her, just what I remembered the demo bike being like.

Nice to see you are enjoying your bike.
Get it on the track, were it belongs!!! Had mine a couple of months now, did Anglsey two weeks ago, and enjoyed it that much, I booked it again at the end of July.

Looking good We're at Anglesey next weekend. I don't know if it will be run in in time though. If it is, it'll be coming out for a run. If not, it'll be at Cadwell beginning of August

You will have to explain yourself here!... I don't see how anyone can restrain themselves to not run it in in less than a week!!

I must be a woose mate, still got chicken strips (more like turkey stripes) yet I seem to blat around everywhere, hanging off, leanage etc. How anyone grinds the pegs on these things is a mystery to me.
Superhero's, Gods, call them what you will, I can't do it.

My main aim has been keeping it between the hedges and avoiding idiots on the road. Reducing strips just happens over time, as I only started riding in April after 20 years away from bikes I've taken a "sensible approach".
The counterpoint to this approach is the bike, its seductive in how it draws you in to the dark side, faster round you favourite series of bends, no other road users around so you cane the bike and silly serious speeds are attained.

You are sooooo right.
Once I'd adapted to the "Ducati style" and it is different to jap bikes, I have found that my average speed in the twisties on my way to work I am 10-15 mph quicker.
This is without trying, no dramas and I could, I guess go faster.
Good innit.....

LOL The reason I fell for it was how easy it was to lean it right over and scrape a knee round Cadwell Park. Round Chris Curve, into the top of the Gooseneck is a quick corner, but I'd never dragged a knee round there until I had the 848 under me, even on our RS250! It just handles so well, although I'm taking some time to adjust from my Multistrada riding style on the road. Might have to go roundabout hunting soon
About 210 miles on the clocks now in three afternoons/evenings riding
