848 Wheel Socket

Can anyone confirm that the front/rear wheel socket advertised for the 1098 is the same for the 848?

It is NOT the same, they are a different size (anyone wanting one for a 1098, I have a spare!! )

Just to add (now that I have a bit more time to answer properly) that according to the eMoto website, the 1098 one is 55mm, and the 848 one is 41/46mm

Hi Jolley,

I decided to check the size of the front and rear wheel nuts on my 848. The front is 30mm and the rear is 55mm, same as the 1098. I suspect that the eMoto ad is incorrect as it refers to the Hypermotard in the text.

All I can tell you is that I bought a 1098 one and it doesn't fit the 848.... maybe the sizes are wrong in the ad, but I am certain the 1098 and 848 ones are different sizes.

Yes, yourself and Jolley are both correct. I borrowed one from a friend of mine who just bought one for his 1098 and although the socket sizes seem the same, the socket will not fit the rear wheel as the design of the socket just won't allow it to fit.
