Thumbs up 848 did her first trackday today

We've done about 240 miles today, riding from Mansfield, to Cadwell, doing a full day on track and riding home again It's been absolutely brilliant, one of the best trackdays I've done! Another success for No Limits, with only a couple of red flags all day.

The 848 was faultless, it's run as sweet as a nut all day long. I took it out in all but one session, when the other half nicked it for a bit and lumped me with his huge SuperDuke (which I quite like really ). It's completely standard, suspension settings and all and the way it's worn the rear tyre shows that it's perfect. No pronounced ridges or tearing at all, it still looks fairly smooth, with bobbly bits round the edge of course! The standard Supercorsas feel great too. Not sure what to replace them with when they wear out, as they are very good, but I would like some more tread for the amount of times I seem to get caught in the rain on it.

I'm blown away by how good this bike is straight out the box. It wants for absolutely nothing. I'm not spending a penny modifying it, it's just what I want as it is and the money is much better spent on more track time and new knee sliders

I'll stick some pictures up when I get them

Sounds like a great day. When the Supercorsa's run out, just bung another set on, they're an ace tyre. They have tread on the bits that matter when its wet, unless you're running them to their edges

Not in the wet, too scary! They are a bit slippy in the rain though and I like to ride whatever the weather, when the mood takes me

Great to read this, got mine last Monday, just had it's first service and off to Brands tomorrow

Your roads must be better than the ones in Hampshire though, fitting Ohlins rear later this week

Bike: 848 TBA!

Thanks for that!! I think you've just cost me a few more quid - have been undecided between a 749R or a standard 848....once the 03/03 748 is sold in the classifieds on here (come on guys its cheap!) It'll be the 848 - Cheers!

Chris

That looks great Grib! I'm very impressed. I'm off to Oulton with mine in a couple of weeks and hope to give it a right good spanking.

They love it, thrash 'em till they can't take no more

Only problem is you can't see the red shift lights very well, so I bumped into the rev limiter a few times. Just a case of getting more of a feel for it I guess.

Looking good. Still unsure if I should swap the 749r for an 848 ... maybe next summer.

Thanks guys and lady

Carbon...have you ridden one yet? I've never been on a 749 to compare. As you can probably tell, I'm very impressed with the 848 so far.

grib

looks like you are enjoying your bike then matey.

I did Anglesey on mine afew weeks ago, scared of dropping it so bought a cheapo gsxr600, to do a Track Day on last month.

Not a patch on the 848 though. Got Anglesey again on the 22nd of August, but still unsure if I should use the 848 or the GSXR.

You are right the 848 is a stunning bike,
