In the past I was happy with the power of my 998S on the road however I found the power delivery of the 1098 too instant and the brakes too powerful for me and I can imagine the problems I might face on slippery/greasy roads in the autumn. The 848 is plenty quick enough and the power delivey is smoother and more progressive which is what I'm looking for - appreciate other folk have different needs and aspirations

Henners don't be daft, no need to apologise, we were in the company of a 998fe in Europe this summer and there wasn't a huge differential in performance until we were really going for it, 180mph stuff. So I think with just a little bit of acclimatisation the bike becomes second nature. Now if I got an R and had traction control..............
