851 Cutting out

Hi all, I'm a Newbie (apparently). Just joined your forum today. I live in Sydney, Australia but used to live in Surrey. Hope you guys might be able to help me:
My current project is to get my 851 running reliably. It has developed the habit of cutting out when it gets warm (not hot). I know it's ignition and not fuel as the pump runs when I try to restart but there is no spark on either cylinder (In-line spark tester and inductive timing light confirm this). It must also be a single item (sensor, ECU) as it does not try to run on one cylinder. Finally, it's not the chip because I've swapped chips with no effect. Someone suggested that the air pressure sensor might be affected being in the 'V' of the cylinders but I think that's too simplistic.
Any one have any thoughts?
Newbie Bob
