If you can get it for less than £8,500 you're doing well. Most are asking more.

Here's one for you:

Stock List

A bit overpriced at 11k GBP IMO - particularly in these times - but they do get some nice bikes in that shop!

Very over priced imo
Like most bikes listed at.....................

Just makes the 851/888 bikes out of reach for most of us!

I remember when the 916 was launched and saw the prices slump

aye up all spike ere
it does really depend on what you want , as i,ve always said the value of anything is linked to the amount of money you have available at the time , if i had 20k spare then a 10k bike would be a good buy to me , if i had 10k spare then a 10k bike would be far to expensive !!!! follow me so far . if you want an sp3 to jump on and ride you are going to go into the 8k bracket . i got mine for less than half of that , i was looking for a good strada to " alter " but i must have been a good boy that week cos the sp3 came up at strada money through this very site . and at the min its not really cost me any money due to alot of wheeling and dealing with other sad 851/888 owners around the world ( you do meet the strangest folk when you start talking these bikes ) but it was bought unseen and through piks and e-mails but i knew that if it all went the shape of an upturned breast i could recoup my pennies and some if it was parted out . lets not forget my 3 was bought dressed up as a 4 which many people would have been happy with but i was,nt .
so in defence your honour an sp3 is worth as much as you,ve got to spend at the time , but beware they are addictive and take over your life ( the girlfriend thinks i,m on an internet porn site most of the time , it would be cheaper trust me ) i spent a good few hours locating a plastic trim for the rear light only to have an italian chap who i,ve dealt with before saying yep i,ve got one and its yours gratis . so do it , you know it makes sense but get a secret credit card from the girlfriend and hide the bills

Unhappy

Is it an 851 (on tailcone) or an 888 (on fairing)? Or am I just being stupid?

Hi Alan,
The '91 SP3 was badged/sold as an 851SP3, but the motors capacity was actually 888cc, the 888 decals on the fairing have been added at some time.
The 1st SP's badged as 888's were the '92 SP4's, the 1st 100 of these being SP(4)S's.
