900ss carb to IE engine project

Not much has gone on with the ie engine conversion..... But
I now have a ie engine £250, picking it up asap.

From the sale of parts from my Carby bits
the fund for this project looking easy on the cash
and will have a little left over for the racing fund,

One thing i need to know is will the Fuel pump carby type
produce enough pressure for the fuel injection system ?
Thanks in advance for help

UPDATE

I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread on this carb to ie
conversion.

Moving on i have found some useful info on the ie engine at CCW.
I need many parts, which are being watched at the moment.

I have removed the heads and barrels, cleaned up the engine and cases and
gave them a coat of engine paint, and gave the barrels a coat of black
The heads are on the bench waiting for me to check the shims etc.
I removed the pistons with the intention of fitting JE hc pistons.

Parts i need are
fuel pump, ecu, loom, coils, reg/rec, throttle bodies, etc

couple of pics from today

Now the sunny weather is here i need to get a move on

She started 1st press......well once the starter managed to turn it over !!!!

I was close to going on the road, but the swing arm cracked ! just brought another off ebay from a ie bike, I pretty sure they're the same !

When you hoping to get yours up and running ?

Hi Steve

I am following this with interest too. I considered doing that conversion on my 600ss, but decided to sell it and buy another bike instead. Hence my 750ss ie.

I am hoping to get my first ie ss back up and running soon after its accident. I have been on the case again today. I have had it running, and sorted most of the front end out now. I just need to source some mirrors, finish a repair to the mudguard and change the belts, as its been standing for so long.

I think then it will become Kristels bike, although she is now on the 748's insurance, she doesnt seem too keen to ride it.

Fuel pressure for injection system is around 3bar. If i remember right pressure for carb system is around 0.5bar. Based on that i believe you need to replace your fuelpump.

Thanks Sledge

Due to lack of £'s the HC pistons are put on hold.

Engines back together and in the frame.
All shim clearances were well in spec and close inspection
tells me the engine has only done 7k miles as the vendor assured me.
Just need bits to move on....... loom, throt bodies etc.

Will post some pics later.
