Spareshack

I have seen a couple of references to Spareshack in old threads. Has anyone had problems with this company?

I am thinking (only thinking) about getting replacement headers for my SSie. Is this the place to go or not?

Stuart has now sold it to a new owner, called Joe, who has promised to keep up the good work. Stu was very highly thought of on the UKMOC site.

I've bought various bits and bobs and never had any problems, in fact i seem to remember very quick turnaround from when i placed the order.

I have bought things from them in the past and more recently. I have never had a problem with them.
It can take a while to get non-stock items though.

I got my silmotor headers from this guy, :aniele Moto International - Motorrad-Shop/Bike-Shop :: Ducati, MV Agusta, Moto Guzzi, Yamaha, Aprilia, Sil Motor, Marving, KTM, Husquarna, BMW, Honda, Cagiva, Gilera, Moto Morini, KYMCO, Suzuki, Triumph, VOR, Voxan, Aermacchi, Husaberg, Benelli, B he does have links to Spareshack but he was cheaper... saying that with todays exchange rate now they are probably very similar. He does put a few on ebay from time to time so you can pick up a bargin, but both highly recommended.
Cheers and good luck,
Ian.

Thanks everyone. Just being careful. When I eventually convince myself to buy the headers I will shop around. Daniele Moto link was great, I could spend a fortune here Thanks Ian. Are the Silmotor headers the same diameter as the std Duc headers. I already have Ducati Performance pipes fitted?

The silmotor headers are 45mm dia throughout and the std ones are about 40mm I think without but the collector box section that the std headers have is where the big restriction is. Check out the 900ss forum as there are a load of threads about them, I had a few headaches fitting mine, but apart from that and loosing one of the small screw in plugs today on a long run out they're great.

By the way are the DP pipes you have low level ?

Ian.

Nice... they're the same as mine. Shame, as I want to swap mine for some low level ones so I can take pillions. Anyone want to swap a pair ? PM me if you do, the misses will be very happy

Just spoken to Joe at Spareshack and he is having problems with his website. He can be emailed on spareshackltd@yahoo.co.uk

Just what he needs when starting up.

Got my Silmotor headers for my 900ss from Spareshack. No problems. The headers fitted straight onto the OE cans. The only difficulty can occur with alignment of the headers which if not done carefully can result in one end can 'sticking out' a bit further than the other. Can be a slightly frustrating 'three-handed' job!
