Can I run without an airfilter?

My bike was dyno-tuned two years ago. At the time it had a K&N airfilter with the airbox top removed and Two Brother Racing slip-on. The new injection map made a significant difference. Since this setup I replaced the Two Brother slip-ons with a set of GPR slip-ons. THe bike has not run the same with these new slip-ons.

I removed the airfilter to see if it made a difference, unbelievable! Without the airfilter the bike runs better than ever. Great throttle responce and very smooth.

Is it ok to run this way? I have always used an airfilter.

It's OK but not really that advisable as there is a fairly high risk of drawing objects (insects? into the throttle bodies and through the combustion chambers.
Had you considered having it remapped with the new cans on? Not sure if you have a power commander fitted, which would make it easy.
