DynoJet Kits for Ducati 900ss?

I have just fitted a DJ stage 2 kit to go with a modified airbox and freeflow cans.
While I have everything apart I have fitted new emulsion tubes (stock not Factory pro anything).

When the carbs are reassembled they ahve gone back to gether fine but the DJ springs seem really light. The Haynes manual talks about them sliding shut but the se springs seem so ligh thtat they can only just manage that at all. It was kind of chilly when I was checking htis and there were no hoses connected to any of the ports to be blocked and prevent the diaphragms from returning. the diaphragms seemd stiffer becasue of the cold but should these come shut really easily and quickly or shoule they slude down to about half way and the really slowly close the last bit?

The dynojet springs are certainly a lot lighter than stock, but check to make sure the diapraghms are intact and seated correctly.
I fitted the same mods to my old 900SS and remember spending a lot of time tweaking the jets and raising and lowering the needle whilst altering the mixture.....hours of fun that I got doen to a fine art....could change the jets from scratch in 15 mins!!!

Thanks for the reply. I have had her running with the air filter removed and I can see the slides are raising and lowering correctly so all seems to be well.

I went to Baines on Friday and was chatting with, what I assume was, John Baines? He said they run the recommend the stg 2 dynojet needle, the stock 140 size main jet and the dynojet springs. The needle is lifted to position 3 from blunt end (dynojet say 4) and 4 turns on the air screws. Mine fired up and sounded ever so sharp and I am looking forward to trying it on the road once I have stopped oil showering out of the damaged thread in the carb heater connection on the floatbowl.
