Carb Ventilation on Ducati 900ss?

Along with my previosu psot about jet kits, when ittok the carbs out there seems ed to have been someone messing with the plumbing to them.
There are 2 large hoses that are protected by springs and run back to triangular cannisters on the left side of the frame. these, I think, are for venitlating atmospheirc air into and out of the carbs to make the slides lift properly. On mine these hoses look to have been loosely shoved into open holes in the cannisters and it looks wrong.
ALso the float bowl draing hoses (skinny ones that go straight onto the floatbowls) are really narrow and hard and don't really want tog over the spiggots on the qbowls. Is this normal or am i trying to fit them in the wrong place.

If any one has any advice or info / pictures it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, My 900ss (196) has the same as yours, eg. Hard small pipes from the carb bowls for draining them, also my breather tubes are just pushed into the triangular cannister on the left hand side of the frame. Just my 2p worth

The "just pushed into the triangular canisters" is as Ducati intended them.
