My ride to Granada took a 'Turning Signal' for the worst!

Hi all,
Having whizzed over to Granada to have a little work on the FE's clutch done, the wife and I were merrilly hooning it back past Sierra Nevada when I noticed something swinging in the wind, just to the left of me.
Alas, the fixture belonged to the Ducati!
Turns out the front left indicator was holding on for dear life by the cables that plug into it. We pulled over to the side of the road prontissimo and I discovered that the mini bolt had vacated his post. Why? I don't know.
I disconnected the indicator and placed it into my DUCATI CORSA rucksack (what a poser!) and we continued on our journey home.
Once back, I popped to the local ferreteria and a kind chappy found a couple of matching bolts with which to rectify the problem with.
However, the plastic housing where the bolt should screw into, has also disappeared. This means that the bolt has no thread in which to locate.
I am returning to the ferreteria tomorrow to find longer bolt but presumably, if that doesn't work, it's a whole new fairing panel.
What a ridiculous scenario to be in. Another Ducati design floor???

Richie.

Good thinking s6pax but I would only be attaching the thing to itself. The body of the bolt (I hope) when longer may reach the last bit of thread (which resides within the fairing.)

A new fairing because the indicator bolt thread has gone??! Sounds a bit extreme. Can't you just glue a well-nut in there or something?
