Only recently found the site to, but pretty impressed
I have a 2000 900SSie, half faired which was modded by myself on behalf it's previous owner who has since sadly passed away.
The bike was painted in the old "Darmah" met. blue with gold wheels and old style graphics. Then the mods started......
The engine has MBP Testarossa heads, BCM 944 Hi-comp pistons, ST2 cams, vernier cam pulleys, DP high level cans and a bespoke FIM flashed fuel map. Unleashed about 102bhp and the same torque as a 996, but at much lower rpm
Billet cam belt covers, open clutch and JHP billet pressure plate tidy up the aesthetics.
The chassis has K-tech 20mm cartidges in the forks and resprung and revalved rear shock. P4 Brembo calipers, 19x18 radial brake master and radial clutch master cylinder sorted the brakes and it's topped of with DP rearsets.
The front cylinder has got some ovality appeared and burns a litle oil but a new set of barrels and pistons are ready and waiting to go on in a couple of weeks. I'm really keen to try the Sil Motor "spaghetti" system on her as I reckon the stock 40mm headers are holding things back a little......
The fuelling seems a little out but I've got the FIM software now so need a crash course in fuel mapping and get on a dyno to get some checks done.
Current rev limit is 10k, but as the bottom end is fundamentally the same as the 748 i'm tempted to raise this to 10500 or maybe 11000??? i've got 12k in th e748 but that's all balanced up.
I like the SBK's, but for me the 2V is still the iconic Ducati engine. There's nothing that barks like a well sorted 2V.
Should be a fun summer 8)
