One happy chappie

Had the SP just over a fortnight and put over 200 miles on her in this beautiful late summer weather and I am totally delighted with it.
My wrists and neck/back are also fine
Now that nelly has sorted out my flip up stand I also now don't fear it toppling over when I pull up.
Also spending an hour with nelly and consulting various manuals and books I now know a lot more about the SP's than I did before
Lets hope this fine weather lasts a bit longer so I can get just get a few more miles in before she gets laid up for winter

Glad to hear you like her Ian - i had mine out today for a nice 100km run along the sunny coastline - not that i was doing much sightseeing had a fantastic time to myself!

Something about these old SP's isnt there - they're ****** ACE ! What sort of mileage are you getting out of a tank?

I haven't actually done a full to light on stint yet, the only reference I have is I did 156KM (97 Miles) which took 11 litres. I was taking it steady but does this sound right

You got 156km on 11 litres - bugger i must get mine set up properly i run dry at 135km on full tank! Tho i've never seen more than 13ltr go in? Petrol light doesnt work so im on trip warning - so when i get to around 100km i refill which is usually 11ltr or so!

Thought she was running a bit rich!

I was taking it steady as I got used to the bike. I will let you know what my last fill up used as I have been a bit more spirited with the throttle this time around. Already done more than 120KM though

Ian, glad to hear you're having a blast on yours. My sp is layed up with a non-functional stator, and I think I am going to re-seal the vertical head gasket while I am at it. But I miss the bark from it greatly. Enjoy yours while you have the weather for it.

For us spoiled riders in California, the best riding of the year is coming up, mid-September to the end of November.

Bit of an update on fuel consumption for you Laz, I went out yesterday and refuelled at 154KM(no light just out in the sticks so filled up to be safe), this time I could only get in 10.3 litres so giving it a bit more stick actually made it slightly better on fuel.
