Pictures of my Ducati 955SP In Fast Bikes October 1996

Here are some of pictures of my 955SP taken from an article written about the bike in Fast Bikes October 1996.

As a 16/17 year old I thought this was just the most amazing looking bike ever.

This isn't at all how the bike would have arrived from the factory, all the bodywork is QB Carbon including the single headlight conversion and the 955 badges were added after as where the 5 spoke Marvic Penta (magnesium) wheels.

In original condition the 955SP would look exactly the same as a 916SP and the only way to tell if it was a genuine 955 would be to check the engine number which should start ZDM955W$*0000 then numbers 1-50ish. I have never found rock solid evidence of how many were produced but a minimum of 50 were needed to homologate the engine for the AMA race series and a few didnt make it to the USA and so possibly 55?
