I didnt exactly want to shout it from the rooftops but it is my 955SP for sale at Moto Rapido. If I didnt HAVE to sell I wouldnt, but a number of factors have forced my hand and now my 13 year love afair with this bike must end.

Bike: 1995 916SP
£15k and bar end bung missing on throttle side
Seriously though looks very nice, sorry circumstances dictate the sale mate.
Looks like a plaque is on the top yolk? hard to tell from the pic.
Did a 955sp have this then unlike my "lesser" 916SP which doesn't? mind you weren't these the same MY as an SP3 which did I suppose.
Hope you get a good price for it mate or your circumstances change and you can keep it.

It would be £20k with the bar end plug! Moto Rapido should have sorted that, I was running the bike in full 955 Corsa outfit so no mirrors except the bar end job as below.

When I got out all the original parts out from store I think the bar end plug had gone missing!

Anyway, regarding the plaque. Of the 50 that went to the USA to homologate the 916 Racing for the AMA racing about 10 came back to the UK as Grey imports by HT Automotive and it was they who added the plaque so pretty much all of them shoudl have a plaque.

My bike was a direct import from the Factory in 1997 to a dealer of the time called Playspeed who prepared bikes for Robert Holden to race in the TT. It was sent over to race the TT and get Ducati back on top at the, though it wasnt allowed to race as it wasnt a street bike. In the 12 page Fast Bikes article on my bike when it first appeared there is no mention of a plaque and I assume that later on one of the previous owners thought it would be a good idea to add one. I think that if I was able to keep her I would certainly be swopping it out for an original blank one.

So from the advertisement I take it that it's been sold? Anyone from the forum buy it?

Very nice looking example, too bad 955SP had to sell it.

Hi, yes they took a deposit on it on Saturday. I am pretty gutted but what can I say, I cant afford to have 2 bikes and this isnt a bike you can use too regularly and certainly not on the track where I do 80% of my riding. If I could afford to keep her as a collectable I would, but its just not realistic in anyway at this point in time.

Belated condolences, 955SP. Great story-line, and you'll always have the memories.
