Bike Review - WRXDUP's Ducati 996

My 996 with CF Monoposta Seat
Well I have had my 2001 996 for about two and the half months now and I thought I would share my experience. When I first got her I was a little unsure if I had made the right choice. As she was very uncomfortable to ride, but dam sexy to look at. When I got off of her my back would hurt, my wrist were in constant pain and don't even get me started on that clutch.

However the more I ride her the more I am enjoying her. Man and machine are now becoming one. The back pain is gone, my wrist's no longer hurt and I am getting use to working or working the clutch less. I have put on a after market clutch slave cylinder aswell, but I am just simply not using the clutch as much when changing gears. So as I have never been one to leave any of my bikes/cars standard I started to do a few mods.

First I ordered some race graphics and put them on. Not easy and not something I want to do again anytime soon, but my patience and perseverance paid off as the outcome was pretty good. I then also fitted a tinted screen at the same time. I have also added a pair of Unifilters to go along with the 50mm Termi's and chip. I removed the mesh screen infront of the air tubes aswell. This made a real improvement in throttle response and slight increase in power. The open clutch with titanium guard and gold clutch plate were done when I first got the duc.

So to finish off the look I ordered a carbon fibre monoposta seat with the white race plates painted on the side. I am pretty pleased with the over all result at the moment. What do you guys think of the carbon fibre monoposta seat look?

Now to buy that slipper clutch.

Thanks guys. I dont enjoy cleaning her at all to be honest. I do enjoy riding a clean bike though. So once clean i try to keep her that way. She is under a sheet when in the garage, and does not see rain if i can help it.

Bah, every man and his dog has red. 8)

I would love to have the whole bike in CF, but i do like the yellow and a few splashes of CF here and there to just break up the solid yellow.
