Members Review - Rick's Ducati 996R

Just back from my trip from NEWCASTLE with my '' 996 R '' Came back to snow storms and minus temps, so NO riding for me
Though I cant complain as I have a R sitting in my warm garage that I can go out and hug whenever I want
Now I just need to polish the exhust like those 999 guys.

Steve's New Bike

Very Nice Brother, Very Nice......

Watch out mate there is snow on the back wheel. SACRILIGE!!!

I got my Pipes all nice and shiny yesterday and started it up and CABOOM!!!
The Oil Cooler went bang! S~#T I think and hope it is a Recall Job, it should have been recalled last year....Sorry, 2004 when the problems started to arise, something about them being a bad batch with KTM. Have to wait until later this week.

Enjoy your bike Bud. Time to get your Pipes off and give Spike and I some competition.

All the best for the new year.

Take Care,

Jim

I have'nt read the threads for the bike Bud. You will have to tell us where you got your bike from. A bit about its history, mileage and what are the up grades. I see you have a Termi on it. Possibly a Power Commander, USB maybe. Or is that too much for the old girl. .LOL,

Have A Nice One,

Jim

Its a Standard 996 R ( well if they can be ) Theres abit of Carbon on, most standard like air box, front mudgaurd, fairing, it also has a back mudgaurd. No power commander, but the Termi s and chip come in the original '' packet '' !
It has done a little over 7000 miles BUT the main bearing went but was fixed by Italia Moto ( 4000 GBP ) only parts OUCH , this was done BEFORE I brought it, so the motor has only done '' 50 miles '' so I will need to ''run it in''
He had it on Ebay but it didnt get the reserve price so I wrote to him and did a deal for under 8000 GBP, so I was VERY happy with that price for a 996 R with a NEW motor. The only bad things are
1. Leaking front fork
2. Little sratch on the back seat
3. Didnt have the original pipes, stand or cover that came with the bike

On a whole its alot of bike for that price, IF I was going to sell it here in Sweden I could get say 11 000 GBP !! There are ONLY 2 other 996 R s in Sweden.
Not too much more I will do to it, just CLEAN the exhust
Carbon air canals
Rear sets
Cycle Cat bars
and maybe a better seat
Will do a right up when I get a chance to ride it ! I havent ridden it YET , so ONLY another 5 months till I can

Beautiful bike Rick, and pleased to hear the purchase went well. I'll get you on the homepage as the featured bike sometime over the next few days if that's okay with you?
