Nice looking bike John, Is it a 996 or 916 mate as I notice it's got 916 forks? ""You've just gotta love those wheels.""

Yeah , the forks that were on the bike when i got it were corroded beyond belief , turning to dust they were , this was the cheapest option , well spotted !

to answer peach bum , yes its an MV rear end , the pipes i dont know because when i got the bike they were like that .
And as i said 170 on the CLOCK , i would not believe any set of clocks to read correct around those speeds .
But as a footnote , i had a tuned priller RSVR and it was'nt as fast on same stretch of road ( good for 165 ) .
dont believe me , come for a ride with me !

Bike: Ducati's

Hi,
My monies on John, that's one very fast 996sps.....
.I've followed it!
A mate of mine who works on Dukes and rides them before handing them back to the owners, ( he's quick and has ridden quite a few 996's) did some service work on John's sps.
He told me about a 996 that he'd test rode.....
Saying it was the fastest 996 he'd ever rode, he didn't know that i know John,
but told me the tale as he knows my Dukes are quick.
Now my tuned 851/916sp is quite a fast bike, but John's seems to have a fair bit of grunt. I think it probably does pull around 170+mph.
I'd love to have a look inside his motor and get my clocks/gauges on it to see what who ever built it has done.......
How long it will last is another question???? But until it goes BANG i think it's one of the fastest 996sps's on the road in the West country
.And John doesn't hang around!
If it does go pop, come and see me John, i think i can make it faster and maybe more reliable!........
It would then have the 'Qudos' of being built in Steve's shed!
The home of some VERY FAST DUCATI'S! and some very nice cider!

Steve

would like to take up the offer Steve . You can have the bike ( i'm fighting myself against giving it a name , grown attached to it you know ) soon as summer is done with
or maybe sooner if he/she starts to run rough
but being a pilgrim i like my cider chilled
which would help the watering of the plants out back
