Thought I'd finally start my bike review ... 996SPS #407
I bought her privately back in December 2005. She had done just over 7,000 miles, had two previous owners annd a full dealer service history from Merlin Ducati in Cardiff and Riders of Bridgwater.
She was advertised on eBay, but the start-price and reserve was set too high (as usual) so he didn't get any bids. I could see from the advert that the bike was local to me so I contacted the guy and went to see it after the auction had ended. I had looked at a few SPSs and this was the best one I had seen. He was keen to sell as he couldn't ride because of a back injury and had his first sprog on the way. I haggled hard and got her for £6500 with the 'SPS' registration, some part-worn track tyres and a set of brand-new leathers all thrown-in. Sweet
Anyway, here are some pics from the eBay ad.
She had all the tasty standard SPS carbon bits, plus a few more besides - termis (plus the standard pipes), airtubes, air box, front mud-guard, clutch cover, hugger, fairing v-piece, heel and exhaust guards. Just a couple of subtle non-standard touches which I really like - red mirrors instead of black plastic, and black screen instead of clear.
The registration number was a nice touch as well - cost £700 according to the guy.
