Ducati 916 - 998R Evolution Special

Hello
I am from Holland and signed in a few seconds ago.
I own a 916 wich i tranferred to a 998R (999R 05 engine) before i had a modified 998S,999s,998 engine in it...no nothing broke,i just managed to swap the engines every time again.
I will try to post some pictures.
greetings Carlos

I'm confused already Carlos - but welcome to you.
Have fun here (and with your 998R). We're a friendly bunch. Cheers.

Look forward to seeing some pictures and reading about how you got the 999R engine running in the older frame!

Enjoy!

Bike: 999R / 998 Bayliss

So, you have a 916 frame but managed to fit a 999R engine in there somehow... and then you call the bike a 998R..... Before this the frame had every other iteration of bike engine in there.....?

Now this is going to be interesting pictures to see. Have you got any pictures of when you were busy fitting the engine into that frame? Enjoy Assen, Mr Bayliss sure did have a good time there a few weeks back.

Hello you all!
What a welcome!!...thanx..on Assen they put me in the ''open A'' class, hope to meet some of you there!!
I''ve managed to put some pics in the foto gallery,i will drop some more of my bike there.
The first time i build the Testastretta in it, i lowered the crossmember to add some room for the throttle bodies and welded the coils on the side (just like a 998)
But the third one i did,i managed to let the crossmember to stay in place, and cut a few mm of the cross
member of the throttle bodies...(takes a few evenings) and let the coils on their places, just a few cm sideways,it fits just...
The biggest problem is to get the 998 parts,i mean the wiring harness and the throttle bodies etc,
you can take the 999 throttle bodies (plenty to get, and cheap) but then you MUST lower the crossmember, because the linkage is in its way,and you MUST use a 998/Monster ie....throttle position sensor an put it to the other side (throttle opens the other way, compared to a 998)
When there are questions let me hear! (i''ve done the job 4 times now)
How is my English by the way??
greetings from Holland
Carlos

Your english is very good Carlos, but then most of your countrymen speak excellent english I find!
I will look out for you at Assen, please come and have a beer with us. My bike is easy to spot - Tricolore colour scheme with gold centre, not many others look like that!!
