I asked my dealer to fit them on the bike from new when they PDI'd the bike so they did it free of charge anyway.
I think you need to change the lot to get the best out of it as I think there's some restrictions in the standard pipework. However if you had the end can off, that's the time consuming bit, with the end can off, the rest of the pipework is a few minutes worth.
I was dissapointed with the Termi pipework as I thought the finish was terrible. I recently looked into getting a 2-1-2 57mm system but think that the pipework is well ugly where it has to be flattened at the swingarm and also I was looking at another grand for another 5hp which just isn't worth it in my book.
Instead i've just unbolted the whole termi assymetric system and sent it to Casoli for a mirror finish polish on the lot for a measly 120 notes. That includes polishing the underside of the end can and brackets so it should look trick.
As for police, I honestly wouldn't say my bike is that loud with the Termis on, I was out with a guy on a 998 recently and his bike was significantly louder, anyway I would just plead ignorance if stopped and say the bike came with it fitted.
