Essex police can be a pain, I know a fair few people who have been stopped for race pipes.
I think its one of those things that depend on area, situation, and the cops mood.

if you want to save the cost of fitting termis you could have the cats removed from the down pipe and exhaust back box/silencer and get straight through pipes welded inside. the work will cost you about 100 quid. i'm in the process of getting this done on my 999. i've got some bits spare.

Any chance of Pics of the routing inside before it's welded shut?

Ah, winner, thanks Dan! The site's getting to the stage where a week off means posts missed. Note to self: Use the bloody search facility from now on!

I have never had a problem with the Plod and i live down the street from a cop shop, You may find they pull you over just to have an oggle at the Duke rather than pull you for the sound they make

Good luck with the TT

I'm in the same position... New 999s. Fitted the end can but couldn't be bothered to take the downpipes out... Rides well and sounds great...

I've no idea when the flammin ECU chip fits in - Anyone know b4 I start ripping the fairingS off?

Also, if I';ve not fitted the downpipe is it going to make much difference? Anyone know how the included ecu changes the maps? Lower/upper/idle etc?

And i know I'm going to regret getting so far and not putting the downpipe on.. Just wanted to get out...

Cheers,

Darren.
