Should I sell my 996sps and S4 to get a Ducati 999s?
Dont know wot to do?
Wot a predicament. Do i chop my 996sps and S4 monster in for a 999s.
Is it as good as the sps or am i going to regret it as soon as ride it out of the showroom

Depends what you are looking for, I like the power delivery of the SPS and to me the 999s power deliver was too refined even over my 996R it had NO chatacter, BUT IF the SPS is not your DREAM bike then you may thinkof swapping up to a newer bike where you have more options of where and how you sit on the bike. IF I was ever going to buy a 999 it would be the 999 S over the standard 999. Though I have seen some GREAT prices on the 999R, now thats a BIKE to buy second hand.
Best is to take one for a test ride then ride your bike, you should know whats for you.
My local shop had a ride day where you could ride all the range of Ducati s I took the 999S out then rode my 996R and to me I wouldnt swap but then the 996R is my DREAM ducati.
Its hard so good Luck

I have to agree, and I reckon that if you really like your 996SPS then you probably won't like the 999s. I tried both back to back and chose the SPS - much more hard-core riding experience - totally bareback. The 999s is too refined for my taste. The only way to make your mind-up is to give your 996 a spirited ride to the shop, test the 999s on some of the same roads and then get back on your 996. Then you'll know what to do.

I agree with both Rick and Dave, but I chose the 999. The 996 definately sounds better and I know what they mean by "too refined"....but...that refinement
I love my 999, you've just got to try both and see which suits YOU

Sell the dog, mortgage the wife and do what I did -
Keep the SPS for trackdays, as its the best bike for the track (OK so I've got a 916SPS, but the point is just the same), and get the 999S anyway as its the best road bike.

well i'm not a sexy beast but i would gladly walk the streets or do anything required to enable me to afford a really tasty bike....
fortunately at the moment things are ok and it isn't required.... (can't find a "relieved" smiley!!!)
but impulse buying is perfectly acceptable, now you will have no choice but to understand when your wife comes home and tells you she just spent £100 on a pair of shoes because she felt a bit depressed.... (but be aware it actually means she spent £400 but isn't owning up to it.....)
incidentally my shoe collection is going on ebay to afford a nice single seat for my 748 we're back, baby!!!!

Oh yeah I forgot to mention, Denzil, you do realise that you're now eligible for the Desmosedici short-list?
