My New Ducati 999 Tail Unit!

Well Lads it came at last. I have been after one of them for a while. The Mutts Nutts it is. Have a look at the Pictures. The quality is fantastic for the price. It was pretty easy to fit aswell. The paint work is very good and the fibre glass moulding is excellent. Higjly recommended.

It is a little bit, not much, heavier than I thought it would be roughly about the same as the red pillion seat and the original plastic section. All in all it is about the same weight.

When I am sitting on my original Biposto seat I sit way far back on the seat, a long way too far really. I got the complete tail unit for the Bike along with the rear padded section. This brings me forward a lot and I am a lot more comfortable when riding. I will see what it is like on the Knockhill track on Monday night. I am going this time a for a couple of hours can't wait.

Here is the link. http://www.hcracetech.co.uk/10420/contact.php

Yes £125 all in Bud. It has the same fitting as the original except, on the tail unit you will see a silver allen screw that connects to a metal bracket you secure to the large allen bolt for the rear termi can. When I fitted it, it was a good way of the hole in the tail section. Once you get the screw in and start to tighten it up it drops down onto the termi heat shield. There is a lot of space between the unit and the rear pipes that you could take all the shields off to reduce weight. I took off the rear pegs, all of the old unit along with the pillion flip up cable for the vinyl seat. No need really.

Jim

I wouldnt wish that upon anyone, Its just hard not to go too fast when you get on the Track, especially the first time. I thought I was SUPERMAN m but a good crash brought me back to reality and my abilities
But Have fun and enjoy it Jim, just go at your own pace and dont worry about how fast everyone else is, Oh and dont stress if you dont get your knee down

I think it was www.motografix.com It cost £21 with the delivery but the quality is second to not, padded and I do believe that it is life time gauranteed. What ever that means for a sticker. The last photo of the tank sticker is the best one of the bunch, really shows of the tail seat.

cheers Jim m8, i have placed an order for one today. Im still not 100% sure about the white stripe on my pure red bike ( i dont think i will ever add number boards on front or rear)

but after looking round for ages and searching inet/shops for a decent plain red one this is by far the best quality one i have seen so far.
