Ducati 999 - Slow Corner Handling?

Aside from putting a 180 tyre on a 999, are there any other cost effective ways of quickening up the handling in slow corners?

There's a Scottish bling merchant on here called James. He's applied a racing steering rake to his beast (not for the faint hearted). I'm sure he will spot this thread and give you some pointers but basically, you can alter the steering rake to quicken up the cornering speed.

Get the rear ride height raised and put as short a chain as possible to reduce the wheel base length. That will speed things up a lot as I have found out on mine. I f your still not happy with that then the 180 rear tyre is the next thing to change. Start with the rear ride height, then move on to the chain if still not happy and so on. I was having big problems with mine and it was causing me to run wide all the time which was really annoying. I have found no stability issues at all with shortening the wheel base and suspension change so unless you are doing BSB and your name is Haslam or something dont worry about stability at high speed(160mph+).

I run wide, but then I cant ride for S%#T,

drop the front forks to the fourth line sharpens up the steering a treat

as has already been said, raise rear ride height to 285mm on tie bar, forks to 4th line, sag set to 30 - 40 mm front and rear with you on ( depending upon roads you ride), don't swap to a 180 rear tyre , the 999 uses a 190 to get a bigger contact patch when you drive it out of a corner, you won't get to last few mm of rear tyre but if you aren't going close to or off the edge of the front you ain't working the front end hard enough and need to think about how you ride it, try braking harder and starting the turn the instant you come off brakes, front is then compressed and you have a steep head angle and it will turn, hang off and it'll hold the line without running wide.

oops should have said they are sensitive to tyre choice, some tyres do tip in better, check pressures and that tyres aren't squared off as well

hello, all this is a dead link, it says there is an issue with free advise... well who know... im haveing some handling issues and i thought bout the ride height but i not sure how to do it. question... can you take the r/h adjuster out without removeing the shock?
