Hmm,just looked at the same post on the DSC site.Hopefully you will get a better set of answers than the rant that went on there!
Freak is correct,the £830 is the worse case scenario price.Worst case scenario is if every valve shim needs replacing.Testasretta motors are a doddle to check the clearances but an absoloute pain to adjust.Takes a lot of time to do.Under normal circumstances tho,and with those low miles,the valves should'nt need touching.I had a big service on my bike and the bill came to just over £600.(Italia Moto,Lincoln)Just one valve needed adjustment.
Dont forget the 2yr/12k is the big one.Everything gets checked over and every drop of liquid on the bike is replaced,...fork oil,brake and clutch fluids included.There is a lot of man hours involved in this service.
Personally with that low amount of miles I would ask for an 'interim service' plus belt change.Something like that should cost in the region of £250-300.
