That'll be a worst case scenario, plus the 2 year/12k service is a biggy, belts fork and shock oil etc

Hmm,just looked at the same post on the DSC site.Hopefully you will get a better set of answers than the rant that went on there!

Freak is correct, the £830 is the worse case scenario price.Worst case scenario is if every valve shim needs replacing.Testasretta motors are a doddle to check the clearances but an absoloute pain to adjust.Takes a lot of time to do.Under normal circumstances tho,and with those low miles, the valves should'nt need touching.I had a big service on my bike and the bill came to just over £600.(Italia Moto,Lincoln)Just one valve needed adjustment.
Dont forget the 2yr/12k is the big one.Everything gets checked over and every drop of liquid on the bike is replaced,...fork oil, brake and clutch fluids included. There is a lot of man hours involved in this service.
Personally with that low amount of miles I would ask for an 'interim service' plus belt change.Something like that should cost in the region of £250-300.

I really have to say that it is not a big job to adjust valves on 749/999 if you have "old style" half rings. On newer style half rings I dont know but I have heard you don“t have to adjust valves so often on those.

Nowadays the labour costs... also here in Finland. Now they are changing Ducati service to reduce costs, that is good! Finally company has realized that it is stupid for example measure valve clearances every year if the bike is ridden only minor miles.

If you want to service your duc yourself you could save some money but you still have to have a garage or so and some proper tools. Then you need also VDSTS or similar to clear fault codes and adjust CO so it isn“t very cheap either.
