LCD Backlight Not Working on Ducati 999

Hi everyone,

Went for a spin on my 999 last night, the LCD is not backlit?

I'm guessing either the sensor, backlight or fuse is broke.

Any suggestions as to where I start looking?

Cheers

Thanks dude,

I'll try tonight, just phoned the local Ducati dealer, they offered to sell me a new dash for $1,500!!!

Let's hope the battery reset does the trick.

Cheers...

Well, left the battery disconnected for an hour just to be sure but still no luck.

Any other ideas?

nope apart from the obvious checking wires loose connections fuses etc... failing that if it was me id try to borrow a dash off a friends 749/999 and see if that works - the dash also turn up on ebay at reasonable prices now and then.

Do you know where the light sensor is? Is it built into the dash or hidden somewhere else on the bike?

I think its all built into the clocks.AFAIK there are no replaceable parts for the speedo/rev counter unit.

Unplugged the connector but it looded pretty clean already, ended up selling the bike. Going to look for an 05 999 hear they have some wicked enhancements, and hopefully a working LCD

Backlight

Backlight on mine still no go....( Checked a bunch off stuff out ) Getting pretty cheesed off with the `R`... Was looking at the Kawa 1400 black last week but still find it hard to give up my duke as have had a 996 before plus all the other rocket ships.... Just could not give up the `NOTE` music that comes from the duke....Anyhow when I get back home from work overhere in Azerbiajan. Will take another look at that Frigg`in backlight as the weather may be crap in January....Also will need to get the belts changed if my missus has left me any money when get home......

Re: Backlight

Got my bike today (999) and went for a spin in the dark. my LCD works as there are figures showing but you can't read them as it is not backlit. Is it just a bulb required ?. It would be handy to know if you were over the speed limit at night.

Cheers in advance for any help guys
