Hi David,

Sounds like this could be a good thread buddy so I'll be watching with interest as will most others I guess...

Those radial bottoms look nice......whats the fixed price on those then....(minus your mark up.....) ????

Oh by the way, you wouldn't be about to use those Showa forks you got for a steal on eBay along with a load of other stuff for £30 by any chance..........

The Showa forks I got for a £30 steal are from a 749 Dark, so only have the chrome sliders......and need a new rebound adjuster, which is on order......so no, ultimately they wont be used.....I'll be breaking them for spares....re anodising the tubes etc, and maybe if I Ti coat the sliders they may be used...however, I have attached the caliper mounts to them, and added the one piece 1098 calipers which arrived this morning ( thanks for the tip Gav) so here's a piccie !!

Are the radial bottoms screwed or slipped/slided into place on the fork sliders? How easy it is to remove the OEM fork bottoms and replace them with radial ones on a 999?

Easy Tuonos, you strip the legs so you can grip the slider properly, then they unscrew....they are WELL Loctited in though !

Radial calipers were designed to increase the rigidity of the caliper under breaking stresses, giving less flex and better and more consistant contact twixt pad and disc Kev....apart from that they look bloody superb ! I'll let you know what the COMPLETE upgrade ( ISR Master Cylinder, Brembo M4-34 Radial 1098 Calipers and Performance Friction pads ) performs like as soon as its all done...a week or so........

Well, as I have said Gav, the problem you are having is my fault, as I have ALWAYS had it in my head that your bike is a 998R, so thats what I ordered parts for. I am happy to swap the 998R parts for 998S parts, but you have decided to go the route of swapping discs for those with a greater offset from the 998R. Let me know if you change your mind.....

Hre are some Brembo's on ebay, he says they dont fit 1098's, I think that the standard 1098 is 100mm centers.
JHP do fork bottoms for these ones though.
Find BREMBO radial race/track day calipers not ap goodridge on eBay within Brake Components, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 09-Nov-07 11:55:23 GMT)

100mm centres are standard road fitment so unless you have 108mm conversion brackets or race fitted radial shocks these calipers wont fit any of the Ducati range ie 999/749/1098 etc.......

anyway....no one bid cos I've got my eye on that set......
