Count me in
Hi, good to see so many bevel owners on here, guess you had better count me in with a Early MHR (1979) 350 SCR (1970) 750 sport (1974) - ex race bike about to complete as blue frame replica & MK2 MHR + early Dramah projects, also have early 916 & a few other italians.
Cheers Dave

Hi Wassy,
That 900 looks fantastic mate, dare I ask how much you shelled out for it?
You can PM me if you don't want to broadcast the figure, I'll keep it to myself......
I promise it'll be 'Mums the word'!
The only bit I don't like is the FPS wheels, I was never a fan of those, I know they don't suffer the problems that the magnesium Speedline's or Campag's did, but they never looked right to my eye.
After going through both sorts of mag wheels (I had 2 sets break up!) I bought a pair of 750SS hubs and a rear disc, then had them built up with wider rims.
I now use a 130 or 140 section rear tyre, original rear was a 110 and later 900's used a 120 section.
Steve

Hello Steve,
I paid £4450 for it. The guy I got it off had it advertised on here UKGSer* ::::* For BMW GS Enthusiasts.
He's got another one in bits that has covered 190k miles !
I wasn't looking for another ss but it seemed too good to miss. This one has the heaviest clutch on any bike that I have ever owned so that's the first job to be done. Other than that I'm just looking forward to riding it.
The downside is that i have spent up so the SP4 renovation is on the back burner for now ( although 851 Neil has been selling some tasty bits lately ).
Hoping to meet up with everyone sometime this year at one of the meets for a bit of crack and a beer or two

Hi,
Yes I've seen Neil's bits on E-Bay. I'd have bid on a few but I'm after something a bit more expensive than those parts, if I get it I'll post up on here my plans...........
It has to do with the 984cc, Desmoquatro motor I'm building at the moment!
The trouble is, I've got too many Ducati projects on the go at once.........
Otherwise I'd buy up all of the parts floating around at the moment.
Steve

Didn't realise at the time of purchase just how rare the Hailwood Mille is with only six or seven recorded examples in the UK. If you want one there is one currently on ebay finishing at 7.45 today but it's already up to £10,888!
It makes an interesting comparison my 916sp and 1098s but is non the less unmistakably family! The 1098 could benefit from the Hailwoods fuel range! Another aspect is the noise. It's louder the the other two by some margin! banging Castle Combes noise test meter round to 102 at idle! Didn't stop them letting me out to do some parade laps with Tony Rutter last year, which was a real privilege.
Would be nice to more bevels out and about but I do understand peoples reluctance especially at this time of year.I note that Taunton Deane have just last night salted some of the roads in Somerset again!

I think you were the Guy i was talking to at Castle coombe ? My Dad (mille rep owner) has tried to email you.........
I will pm you his email addy,
£10,888 dam i'm never gonna afford to buy it off the old fella now!
Dad knows of 2 other hailwood milles both doc members.
He did ride it every year to the TT from 1991 up to 1998.
He met a mille rep owner over on the island who was from Germany.
Do you know what the rep fetched on ebay?
cheers

Hailwood Mille
Hi Imola, The Mille sold on ebay (from Germany) went for..........sitting down? £11,140.00! The bike was almost new though with only 250 ish km's recorded.Maybe a bargain? I don't think so! Very encouraging if you own one though. We may get to meet again at the Ducatisti track day at Pembrey? Steve.

Yeh, I`ve got a cafe racerised Darmah from 1978. 40mm Dellortos, Contis, Tomassellis NCR rearsets, single seat etc etc. I`m still getting it sorted and it will be on the road for spring. Gonna invest in an alloy tank and mudguard. Its bleedin uncomfortable mind but I dont care!! Colin.

bevels owned.
I have a narrow case 250 mark3, its down as a 69 but its more like a 67 dianna .I think its been raced at some time , rebuilt by a bike shop, owned by a classic ducati racer, now in my tender care.Lots of small problems ,bad workmanship, half completed 12v conversion .Looks pretty but untill i strip it down i wont have confidence in it. I need to find a set of pullers and a clutch lock before i can progress. The motor sounds good but has no sparkle,i really want to use it more this summer so i can give the norton a rest.

Right I've taken the next 2 days off to play with my bikes...
At the moment I'm descaling my "79 900SS (After it's winter lay up) to ride to the Bristol meet on Saturday, who else is up for it?
We need to show these "Johnnie Come Lately's" what it's really all about.
I'll be there (Short of a breakdown) and I'll bet if I park the old girl alongside the 748/916/996/999/1098 Whatevers?
Everyone will be looking at the old girl, before they look at those new bikes!!
Be there or be square!
BEVELS RULE OK.
Steve
