Hi Andy,
Obviously I wanted the owners to actually get them out and ride them...
For a change!
I won't waste my time exchanging banter with someone who thinks that the 749/999's are beautiful, it's beneath me and you're obviously a very sad and deluded man!
By the way...
Andy what time are the lesser folk meeting at the Murco?
You know that anything I've posted is in jest, except for the fact that if I park the old girl beside your hidious looking heap no one will look at the 749...

Steve

Well Steve,

I personally would not stoop so low as to criticise a fellow Ducatisti’s bike in the manner to which you have done.

I can only surmise from this emotional outburst of yours, that you have a deep underlying inferiority complex just peeking out. It could the fact that your manhood is abnormally small, I don’t really know or care

BTW as you asked it’s 08.15 at the Murco, just make sure you don't park your beaut next to my Icon

Have you two kissed and made up yet, or is it still going to be pistols at dawn?

Mr.R you bad man, stop baiting people with you 749/999 dislike or I'll tell Nessy and the kids to break into your shed and steal your tools.

Never fell out in the first place Dan

Actually Steve and I spent most of Saturday discussing the wrong's and right's of bike design and I know he does have a secret longing to own a 749, but he is not sure if he could handle the power hike

He is also partial to a little tickle every now and again, but that's another story

It's no more than friendly banter Dan, Andy well knows the rules and how to play the game!
I've just read his last post which isn't exactly true...
I'm just keeping my powder dry, waiting for a chance to go for the jugular.
Now if you really want to hear me have a go, just mention the Ducati Indiana.

One picture is worth a thousand words!
I'd rather walk than own one of those...

Hi,
It used to be a very cheap way (As no one wanted one) of getting a Pantah motor to tune and put into a race frame, a lot of them ended up fitted into Harris or Verlichi chassis.
One of the Castiglioni brothers was a big fan of choppers/custom bikes and had these made...
Not one of their best decisions!

Hi Andy,
It turned out that the new floats were fouling the old style float bowls, the front wall of the bowls are 1/2 mm thicker on the inside than the later items...
I've now modified the bowls and sorted the problem.
I only found this out when I borrowed a KTM float bowl to nick the 'O' ring until my new ones turned up in the post, I'd stripped and put the carbs together several times, changing every part more than once!
But the problem persisted????
Looking at the two types of floatbowl side by side showed up the difference followed by.

Yes Steve it's a Mono Mille kit made by Harris's and sold through Steve Wynne at Sports Motorcyles.
I've still got all the original advertising leaflets/spec sheets for these bikes.
