Hi,
I've also got a "74 250 Desmo Disc, the last of the yellow singles.
I'm also looking to buy a widecase 350 single engine, it can be a basket case none runner, for a little project I have in mind.
So if anyone knows of one laying around covered in dust please let me know.
Steve

HI,
The widecase 350 singles came in both desmo and valve springer guise, the desmo's were very rare, only about a dozen were imported of the last yellow ones. The chances of finding one of these that's been broken are very slim.
So i'm looking for a mk3 valve spring motor.
Steve

Hi,
I've got a 1979 SD900 overbored, gasflowed, Imola cams, 40mm carbs....
Tucked away in the back of the garage, waiting for an engine rebuild, needs a new big end!

Hi,
The bikes spec sounds nice but.....
A new bigend! I'd love to say I'm suprised but I can't.
I'd lay big money it needs a few more parts than just the bigend.
When the bigends let go, (which also knackers the conrods), the hardened steel shrapnel flys up the bores shagging the liners, pistons, piston rings and then falls into the sump where it's sucked through the oilpump, shagging that aswell.
It's not unkown for the bill for an engine rebuild to rise to over £5,000, (which is more than the bikes resale value) if you don't carry out most of the work yourself.
Steve

I just love reading Mr R's posts, straight to the jugular. But without doubt, a shed load of subject knowledge.

Great knowledge indeed Mr.R... and Ghost I've even been privileged enough to receive an invitation to the inner sanctum of Mr.R's bike shed. It's an amazing place and Mr.R is really enthusiastic to share his vast knowledge, which just blows your mind. It's like being in a Ducati version of 'Charlie and Chocolate Factory' with Mr Wonker trying to give you a Matrix type training download of all things Bevel... engine barrels and piston rings galore.... some of the best hours I've spent all year! Thanks Steve!...
P.S: Nessy is a truly wonderful women who makes the best coffee in Cornwall.
