Nice 900ss Bevel on Pistonheads
I know it's not a MHR but I think this is the most appropriate category for these older Bevels

Hi,
They're lovely bikes but they will keep you very poor if you use them!
I've had mine for over 28 years and could have bought a small country with the money it's cost.

Royum,
Well spotted that man!.....The bike is however only a Darmah SS and not the real deal, they were the poor mans "SS".....
Less power, too much weight and a chassis that wasn't in the same league.
In short a lardy bus!

Yep, it's a 77/78 900ss in blue/white rather than the JPS type paint scheme that I lusted after. Didn't the Darmah come later than that?

Royum,
The "77 SS's came in Blue and Silver, the "78's were Black and Gold with cast wheels.
The "DRAMAS" were the sport tourers, as I've said not the real deal.

Ah 1977, The Eagles, Hotel California on the radio and Blue/Silver 900ss poster on the bedroom wall, YDS7 in the shed with a Honda Dream 250 on order. I think most Journos at that time lusted after the 900ss just as much as I did.

If it's a valve spring model it'll have a motor from a 860 GT or 900 GTS, which is why it's so cheap!
Just had another look it's a tarted up GT 'NOT' a bevel 900ss.
Definately not the real deal.
