Nice one fella, good read! Nice to know folks have been where I am now. Really looking forward to my first proper ride I can tell you - oddly enough will probably involve the A10 too! Will post when I have - we must arrange a meet sometime soon!

In our case 4 bikes - absolutely no more space for another one (the M-bikes are vying for space with about 8 pushbikes too...)

Cheers. D

PS 23km around Wellington and Wivie today on my pushbike and I can confirm that counter-steering works very well - in fact all cyclists do it all the time without thinking.

I must admit that is the main one for me.

I suppose for me I realised I had some sort of disease when I ran in my 848 in sub-zero conditions in December just so I could ride it and to hurry the first service!!

Also, arranging things to be picked up/dropped off/collected by other people for you so you can take the bike instead of a car.

Or, as in my case, when the friend whose garage your bikes are squatting in can't put *his* car in it due to lack of room...

You know you are a biker when five of you get pulled by the pigs when you are not even moving and escorted off for "vehicle checks". Your crime? Doesn't need to be a reason, no questions answered. You are a biker.

You know you're a biker when you spend your redundancy money having a room built on the house to put your bike in.

Yep - I could have had a garage built for less but.......

a) She'd get cold in the winter without central heating!
b) I wouldn't be able to sit in the dining room with a glass of vino & look at her!

I'd almost say I love my bike more than my wife, but it was my wife's idea to build the room. Mind you I'm waiting for her to suggest we sell the bike and replace it with some soft furnishings from IKEA!!

when driving your car you tuck down behind the steering wheel at speed and pop back up again under heavy braking
