You know you are a biker when ...
Indulge me for a moment... A number of you know I'm a relative newbie to this motorbiking lark (and getting into it more day by day), but this week, after my two mammoth ride-outs on Saturday and Monday, I realise that I've brought some bike habits into other areas:

1. Out on my (push) bike earlier this week... Turned out of my road and immediately checked my mirrors Where were they??!

2. On the school run this evening in my (lovely) Mini - I found myself steering around the manhole covers.

Can any of you remember that moment when you knew you were joining the biker ranks.
Bit of an epiphanic (I made that up) moment for me

Hope you have fun on your bikes this weekend. Weather looks good!

Crossing Salisbury Plain during the winter on a Triumph TT100 and having to stop and hold onto the exhaust down pipes in order to try and get some heat back into my hands...crossing the Chilterns in heavy snow on a Moto Guzzi Le Mans Mk1 and grinding to a halt because the carbs have iced up...but now that I'm a fair weather biker, seeing a 4X4/Volvo/BMW approaching a junction on my left and, even though I'm in my car, just knowing that the &%£$wit is going to pull out on me!

You are quite right MrsH, when you start observing things like white lines, manhole covers and 4x4s/Volvos/BMWs when driving your car......then you're a biker!

When you're about to drive through that small gap when you realise you're in a car and not a bike!

1)when you nod at bikes whilst driving and they ignore you, leaving you feeling miffed, humiliated and hurt..

2)When you open the door to get your knee down on roundabouts.

3)When it starts raining and you wipe a finger across your face..

4)You see a bike in your rear view mirror-give it a quick appraisal, look at the after market bits, and wish you had that 'Think Bike' sticker youve been meaning to get round to sticking on your rear window, just so they know youre one of them and not always stuck in this friggin bean tin...

... when you nod at bikers when you're walking on the street ...

... you look before moving into the right hand lane...

... rather go for a ride than have a ride :0

1982 when we had a very hard winter with lots of snow.....and you buy an SP370 trail bike and fit a non road legal knobbly moto-X rear tyre so you can still go biking in the snow
Doing lifesavers when walking on a crowded city pavement before you nip past someone
Getting home after a summer ride and there are flies and insects in your teeth cos you smiled so much
(Made the last one up!)

You keep a pair of shoes & trousers in your locker at work because you know you'll be getting there on your bike.
