hi and what on earth have i bought?
hi.
having taken this 750 something in part ex for my lowrider i have set about trying to locate what it is.
i think i was swayed into taking it by the lines n the mechanicalness of it all, being 50yrs and having grown up with trumpets n bsa's etc etc these styles "move" me more than the molded yogurt pots of today.
and the fact it goes like f*&$
anyhow it was described to me as a 750 sport but is regged as 1988 and looks very similar to the last f1 termi somthing.
have tried ducati but no mention of it at all there and also been thru the paso forums for advice on clutch bleeding tho still not sure where to get a goodridge for it.
best i stick a pik in n mebbe someone mite have a bit of history for her.
thanks.

ok thank you stafford.
gorgeous as she is im not sure if ill keep her, mainly because shes "tiny" n im 6-2 n it feels like im sat on a blindingly quick 125 , im not to sure what to put in any "swap for" advert.
she seems to have had some sort of carb coversion as well,so need to find what that is as well.
do u think she's a bitsa,ie added to by an enthusiastic duc owner in times gone by ?.
(wish he'd added a goodridge clutch line)

been for a proper blast around the b roads today and im a bit gobsmacked to say the least.
goes like the wind and i have absolutly no chiken strips front or back now, never had no strips on a front before.
i quite forgot about the cramped size of her and the noise is mental.
but all was going too well, lost my clutch pretty much on the way home and a bad misfire started to creep in when winding the throttle on,bit like not enuff juice i think.
looking her over in the yard ive found clutch fluid dripping from bottom of the clutch cover so i guess thats a dead slave cylinder then and looking at the carbs with those open bmouths i think theyre stuffed full of carp(one points forwards out of front of bike so prob full of flies).
any idea where in derby or area that i go to get a slave cylinder for her and what do i ask for,a 750 paso one?
cheers.
hmm, just re-read this, looks like im getting involved in ducatis now, bang goes the wallet.

.. welcome to the afflictio... er I mean club..... my wallet lives in constant fear now... before I was just a mild mannered Ducati fan, never heard of FCR carbs and Spaghetti headers before, never knew that the ST2 cams would improve my engines performance, always thought magnesium was a thin strip of metal that we had at school that burned with a 'bright white light'.....
Then I discovered Ducatisti !!....
PS. nice bike

Cat
you may not need a master cylinder as you can replace the seal, early 900ss had that problem, fixed with 916 seal,
not sure if yours is the same, someone with better knowledge than me will be along later no doubt.

ooo thatd be great if i could just replace a slave cylinder seal or even the piston.
its all a bit confusing at the moment, guess once ive started unscrewing bits ill feel more at home with her, like being in a foreign country at the mo.
had the same with my previous bikes:tri daytona 955i,cbr1k f,fj12,n even a bmw r1100rt lmfao - never again,n a rd500lc.
this time i set out to get a vstrom 1000 n ended up with the sport.heh.
i never learn me.
all help very appreciated until i can start to learn the duc ways n places, dont even know of any shops that do parts round here(derby).
just noticed one of my pics appears a little strange, was playing with pc paint to see if i could modify the bumstop to allow me more room

well sorted her all out (many thanks to all ,spesh nelly, here and paso.org) n have been blasting out n about and have come to a conclusion...she's waaay to "small" for me,talk about crushed nuts!!.
havent been able to guess a resale price on her from any books etc so went for what a previous owner paid for her(n fact she seems somewhat rare n very good nick)
shes on swapz.co.uk n mebbe classic bike later on.
ill swap for a larger(phyisically)bike vtwin, single, triple etc etc, must be somewhat unusual or old etc.
dont want to cos shes gorgeous but i like my nuts where they r and prefer to have my head behind the headlamp not over it n the front mudguard.
lmao,musta looked right daft!!.
value is poss too much but ive been offered some rite tatt so far, nothing remotely intresting at all so ignore my pricing exuberance if u choke when u read it.hehe

Shame your not keeping it 'cat' but if it's too small it's too small...
It looks like you've got one of the first 750 sports which came out in '88-'89, originally I think it would have had a Weber carb fitted, but someone has fitted the dellorto's which are a big improvement as the weber was sh**e, It has the old 16" wheels off the paso aswell so it will feel small. You have a rare bike there mate ! sure you don't want to keep it
