If you were buying an 848? would it be red or white?

Went along to Ducati Wolverhampton on Saturday to look at their demo 848, personally Mrs M and I think its stuning in the pearlescent white, my fetish for shiny black has to be forgotten, but the red is after all what most people want.

After being bid in the b@ll@x for my 749 I may sit tight anyway, just wanted to gauge opinion, forgive me if there is already a thread on this subject.

Cheers Mill

Bike: Monster 583 ex DD racer no 6 and around the UK record holder!

My son thought the white one looked dirty
I liked it, but then i'd have a red one

848...

If theyve been hard on the p/x then best leave it for the moment, however thats not to say that other dealers wont be so hard on it. Im sure that there is a fair amount of business for them at the moment what with the new 58 plate out in a few weeks.

It might be worth trying agian in the 'leaner months' when they may be more accomidating, especialy with the predictions for the UK economy!!

Red or white...do they do sets of natural carbon pannels, that could be the (very expensive) answer!?!!

Bike: Bikeless :(

Red. It's that simple.

Shame they don't do one in black, that'd be hard to knock back ..

Bike: 848 in Red.

Carbon does have a better contrast with the non red colour though

I agree redmist on the PX

Put the 749 on MCN last night for a really fair price, I am not in any great rush so will see what happens after October, the guy hadnt left me get off the car park when he offered me £100.00 pounds more than he had originally, anyway no rush as I said, only greed, lust and desire for something new and lovely. I may go and pray to get these defects of character removed.

Has to be the pearlesant white, white as the driven snow, just blinds you with it's beauty

But I do have the Faster yellow 748R, so white must be the new colour to sit between the faster yellow and slower red

Fuse lit, gets coat and makes a quick exit.

anything else is wrong

There is only one colour for a Ducati - and it's not yellow or white!

It's like asking if there is any other colour than silver for a Mercedes, or red for a Ferrari, or yellow for a Lambourghini (have I spelt that right!), or black for a Model T. You just can't resist the innevitability....it's wrong to even consider otherwise...

Chris.
mmm, so white is the new red is it?...it'll never catch on...

Oh, and Chris, people were branded as witches and burned at the stake less than three hundred years ago for such heresy - you are a lucky man for living in the 21st century - of course, all the other readers of this thread are grown up enough to realise that you were only pretending to be slightly delinquent when you muttered those profanities as you searched for the exit!

If I may voice my opinion on this delicate subject.

Ahem, I have owned two yellow 748's, now own a red 996 so I am a not colour facist.

I nearly bought an 848 a few months back but the insurance was a crippler. For me there is only one colour for an 848, you gotta buy a white one, it is drop dead gorgeous.

Chappie at Ducati Wolverhampton reckons he is selling 50/50 so I do not think resale will be an issue.

(by the way, he bid me in the nether regions for my then 675 Daytona)
