BliP and myself got to the NEC a bit late today so missed the 1230 Ducatisti rendezvous at the Ducati stand. However the visit was the best one ever for us both, free entry, free parking, some free clothing and a 15 minute chat over a drink with Carl Fogarty and Neil Bramwell (Thank you Red Torpedo). BliP came away with 5' long cardboard photo of Foggy on a 996 which alarmed the security folks when we left
So Carl has 2 Ducatis, 1 in his house - the 1998 world championship winning '916 Foggy...' (real one not a rep) and a Hyper which he got last spring. He was of course presented with a Ducatisti calling card.
All in all a great day out for me. I was not expecting to see a new bike (or two) and only wanted to try on a few helmets so I can get a new one after Christmas. The sales stands were exactly as expected but there were more bargains to be had this year.
The 2 nicest bikes of the show for me were this 999 and an early MHR. I am not a fully fedged fan of the 749/999 but they continue to grow on me
