Bike: 2002 Ducati 748E

Lightbulb Welcome to Ducatisti.co.uk

This site was created back in April 2005, so I guess it's time to update my welcome message to any new folk thinking of joining our little online Ducati gathering.

I created 'Ducatisti' after buying my dream bike, a Ducati 748, which I initially rode with mates on Kawasaki's, Yamaha's and Suzuki's, but as most Ducati owners discover I found I really wanted to ride with other Ducati's, but not the Ducatista of the Ducati advertising brochures, with their Armani postures and midge free visors, but instead people who bought their own slice of Italian passion for riding in the real world.

I was living in Kent at the time, but from Tenterton to my home in Torbay, I'd pass plenty of anonymous Ducati riders on my monthly commute back to the West Country. But with their heads-down and Termignoni’s singing I found little opportunity to strike up a conversation about meets at the weekend. So with a little web knowledge I created this site to hopefully help others like me, who were/are interested in finding other Ducati riders who are simply interested in getting our tyres warm as often as possible.

Now I'm not one for Clubs because running a motorbike can be expensive enough and I'm not into paying membership fees, so consider 'Ducatisti' merely a gathering of Ducati enthusiasts. I also hate the hard sell you get from some other Duke sites, which are created on the back of bike dealerships or retail concerns. So in an effort to avoid any club politics and also escape the sales pitch, this site is just intended to be an independent, free, unofficial Ducati resource, for people simply interested in some fun, information sharing and, most importantly, to arrange meets with other Ducati owners.

So if like me, a good part of your spare time revolves around the adoration of Ducati motorcycles, get talking to other members, find some more Ducati riders in your area and learn what you need before getting back out on your bike, after all that’s what you bought it for!

If you have any questions just send me a Personal Message (Click Here) and I'll get back to you asap.

Thanks for reading and hopefully see you out there soon.

Cheers
Dan
